My First Novel Pitch

For the last 9 years, I’ve been writing novels. I have started at least 5 and 2 of which are almost complete. I haven’t always enjoyed writing. In school, English was a challenge. As I’ve learned…Writing is hard work, even my blog can be difficult at times.

Yesterday, I went out on a limb and submitted a synopsis and a small portion of one to an online contest called ‘Son of a Pitch’. This contest has a panel of published authors who will critique my work, give feedback, then at the end of the week they will choose their favorites, and those will move on to the next round where they will be judged by publishers.

I’m very anxious, excited, and nervous. This experience will help me to see if my writing is good to anyone other than me (I know it’s good), motivate me to grow as a writer, and make networking partners with other writers, agents, and authors in similar genres.

So, here’s to crossing my fingers and try to wait patiently for feedback, good or bad, over the next couple days. AND In case you are wondering, I’m withholding my novel name to you dear reader until after the contest is complete, so stay tuned.
