A Camping Dessert. A Bonfire Delight. A Chocolate Gooey Sandwich.
I love S’mores. The crunchy melted goodness in one bite and completely gone in three. I love toasting my marshmallow on an open fire, but to be honest, I don’t like my marshmallow to be completely burnt on the outside, just a little bit.
A lot of people say that S’mores are a Summertime dessert, but I prefer to enjoy them in the Fall and Winter when it’s cool and bonfire (or fireplace) season. Halloween and Fall Festivals always had bonfires to make S’mores. Aunt Gail used to have an annual Hot Dog Cookout with S’mores being the dessert in her back yard and you also had to cook your hot dogs in the bonfire as well.
One year for Christmas, Aunt Gail bought me S’mores in a can kit. It had everything I needed to make S’mores at home without a bonfire…the instructions where to use the microwave. Neat idea and it worked, still gave the gooeyness without all the burnt marshmallow.
Other ways I’ve enjoyed the S’mores flavor: Brownies, Dips, Cookies, Milkshakes, Frappes, Hot Chocolate, Granola Bars.
How to make S’mores:
Ingredients: Chocolate candy bar, Honey Graham Crackers Marshmallows
Instructions: Break off a square of Graham cracker. Add a piece of Chocolate. Toast a big marshmallow over the campfire. Add the hot marshmallow. Top it with another graham Cracker. Eat , savor and enjoy!
Note: You can make S’mores in the microwave. Just put them together and pop them into the microwave on high for 15 to 20 seconds.
