I love to color and it’s a favorite childhood past-time. What child didn’t like to color?! I haven’t done it in a while, but I do have a couple Adult Coloring Books that I need to work on (especially my Golden Girls one). Coloring is such a relaxing exercise.
Today, we were at the Farmer’s Market having lunch and the hostess gave my nephew, Dakota, a coloring page and a couple crayons. While we were waiting for our order and munching on biscuits and hush puppies, I was trying to teach him how to color. Now granted he’s only 14 months old and not quite coordinated to hold the crayon, but I tried showing him how and pointed to the paper to show where it was to go. At first he didn’t want anything to do with the crayons and kept giving them to me to do it. So of course, Momma and I had to show him how to color an area and by the time our meal came he had colored a few lines on his page. It’s a Start!…and his picture is now displayed on Momma’s fridge.
So, Momma got him some crayons and I will continue to teach him more about coloring and hope he enjoys it as much as I do.
